| He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. | Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. |

But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. | But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. |
| But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? | If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? |
| Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls. | Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. |

But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” | Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.” |
