For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. | For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. |
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. | The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord. |

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid. | To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. |
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. | Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety. |
Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. | Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. |
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. | People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. |
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? | If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? |
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. | But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. |
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. | If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. |
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. | If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. |
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. | If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. |
For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” | For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” |
As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” | As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” |
Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave. | But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. |
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. | Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! |
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. | All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. |
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. | But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. |
Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” | Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.” |
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. | Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. |
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” | Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” |
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. | Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come. |
No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. | Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. |
You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. | For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. |
All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent. | The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom. |
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. | So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. |
