Bible Verses about 'World'

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God.Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
