- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? - You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
- “Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. - Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore! - Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established. - Blessed is every one who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways. - The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands. - For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain. - Arise, O Lord!
O God, lift up Your hand!
Do not forget the humble. - Let us search out and examine our ways,
And turn back to the Lord. - For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:
“Seek Me and live.” - A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
And before honor is humility. - Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore! - The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way. - ‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the Lord;
‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you.
For I am merciful,’ says the Lord;
‘I will not remain angry forever.’ - Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near. - For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue. - The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name! - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
He brings low and lifts up. - And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.
- For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
