| Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? | Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? |
| And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive it all. | You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. |
| And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! |
| If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him. | If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him! |
| And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? | Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? |
| You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. | You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. |
| Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. | You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. |
| For the Lord your God will have blessed you just as He has promised you, and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you. | The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you. |
| God raised up His Servant for you first, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways. | When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways. |
| You shall walk entirely in the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and that it may be well for you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess. | Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy. |
| I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides You.” | I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” |
| And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You. | Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you. |
| Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know. | Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. |
| Seek good and not evil, so that you may live; And so may the Lord God of armies be with you, Just as you have said! | Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. |
| And the Lord is the One who is going ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not desert you or abandon you. Do not fear and do not be dismayed. | Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you. |
| And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. | If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. |
| Turn to my rebuke, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. | Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. |
| For You have put us to the test, God; You have refined us as silver is refined. | You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. |
| God, You are my God; I shall be watching for You; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and exhausted land where there is no water. | O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. |
| Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You. | You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh. |
| Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. | In those days when you pray, I will listen. |
| And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit. | But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. |
| You are my hiding place; You keep me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah | For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. |
| You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’; and you are correct, for so I am. | You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. |
| You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace. | For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. |
