I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.
Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men!How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.
I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah.I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’t you know about your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat whatever has fins and scales. You shall not eat whatever doesn’t have fins and scales. It is unclean to you.Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales. But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean.
He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith? So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who will be made as grass?I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass.
Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you. But flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
