- He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. - And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

- For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
- A fool uttereth all his mind:
but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. - He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. - So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
- He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
- But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
- Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
- In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
- And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world,
received up into glory.
