- So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever. - Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path. - Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
- A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity! - He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the Lord. - Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor. - The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. - For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in the power of your hand to do so. - Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Seek good and not evil,
That you may live;
So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,
As you have spoken. - And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
Loving favor rather than silver and gold. - Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness. - Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad. - O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.” - A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! - So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
- Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
