Chinese (traditional)- Then Peter came up to him and asked, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy times seven.”
- For it is in him that the entire fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and you share this fullness in him who is the head of every ruler and power.
- May God continue to bless us
and be revered to the ends of the earth. - Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, it will be enough for us.”
- No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us.
- Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above all other names,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - And if we know that he hears us
in regard to whatever we ask him,
we may be sure
that all we ask of him will be ours. - For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.
- After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.
- While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
- And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
- But when the disciples saw him walking on the water they thought it was a ghost and they cried out, for they all had seen him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them, saying, “Have courage! It is I! Do not be afraid!”
- I can do all things in him who strengthens me.
- Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
- And if one should fall,
his companion will help him up.
How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls
and has no one to assist him to his feet. - For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - For ‘In him we live and move and have our being.’ As even your own poets have said, ‘We are all his offspring.’
- The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe in him
already stands condemned,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only-begotten Son of God. - Above his head was inscribed the charge against him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
- All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us. - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- The way of God is blameless;
the Lord’s promise has proved true.
He is a shield to all
who take refuge in him. - He was despised and shunned by others,
a man of sorrows who was no stranger to suffering.
We loathed him and regarded him as of no account,
as one from whom men avert their gaze. - Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.”
And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us.May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”Next verse! With image
