By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. | This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples: if you love one another. |

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.” | Jesus replied, “Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” |

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. | God abides in anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that person abides in God. |
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” | “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again. “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” |
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” | Jesus replied, “This is the work of God: to believe in the one whom he has sent.” |
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. | Whoever possesses the Son possesses life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not possess life. |
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. | And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. |
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. | For from the beginning you have heard the message that we should love one another. |
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. | This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. |
And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. | This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. |
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” | Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?” |
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. | And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. |
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. | I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. |
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. | And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever. |
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. | So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. |
Then Jesus said to them, “I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me.” | Jesus then said, “I will remain with you only for a short time longer, and then I shall return to him who sent me.” |
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. | And the world with all its enticements is passing away, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. |
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. | I am the gate. Anyone who enters through me will be saved. He will go in and out and will find pasture. |
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” | Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” |
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. | I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to protect them from the evil one. |
