- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. - A fool's lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calleth for strokes. - Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - He that hideth hatred with lying lips,
and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. - My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee;
and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee. - Excellent speech becometh not a fool:
much less do lying lips a prince. - The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. - He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. - In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise. - Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live:
I will lift up my hands in thy name. - Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- In all labour there is profit:
but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. - I will bless the Lord at all times:
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
- Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
