Bible Verses about 'Lips'
- Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit. - Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. - Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who act faithfully are his delight. - The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,

when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have redeemed. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor,
but the lips of a fool consume him. - Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life;
he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. - I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food. - Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent. - When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. - Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. - Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you. - Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a prince. - Take with you words
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
“Take away all iniquity;
accept what is good,
and we will pay with bulls
the vows of our lips.” - For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - In all toil there is profit,
but mere talk tends only to poverty. - I ate no delicacies, no meat or wine entered my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks.
