Bible Verses about 'Lips'
- Then keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies! - The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in those who tell the truth. - Rescue me, O Lord, from liars
and from all deceitful people. - The lips of the godly speak helpful words,
but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. - Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels;
they are asking for a beating. - Hiding hatred makes you a liar;
slandering others makes you a fool. - I will shout for joy and sing your praises,
for you have ransomed me. - Wise words bring approval,
but fools are destroyed by their own words. - Those who control their tongue will have a long life;
opening your mouth can ruin everything. - Eloquent words are not fitting for a fool;
even less are lies fitting for a ruler. - I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food. - Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;
with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent. - Avoid all perverse talk;
stay away from corrupt speech. - For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life
and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” - Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. - Too much talk leads to sin.
Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. - Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord.
Say to him,
“Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us,
so that we may offer you our praises.” - All that time I had eaten no rich food. No meat or wine crossed my lips, and I used no fragrant lotions until those three weeks had passed.
- I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises. - Work brings profit,
but mere talk leads to poverty! - If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
- Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
