For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint.

Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing, but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.
Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.Make your face to shine on your servant. Save me in your loving kindness.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day.

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
