- He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:
but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. - The desire of a man is his kindness:
and a poor man is better than a liar. - When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
- God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
- Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.
- Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
- Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me? - Who will render to every man according to his deeds.
- Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
- He is despised and rejected of men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not. - The fear of man bringeth a snare:
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. - But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
- This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles. - I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. - He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
- For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
- Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding. - He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him. - It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy,
and after vows to make enquiry. - And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
- Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:
for thou renderest to every man
according to his work.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
