For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. | For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost. |
For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. | For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man. |

Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. | Yahweh God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. |
Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! | Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? |
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. | Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. |
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. | For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. | For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous. |
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” | Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.” |
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. | Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. |
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! | But the free gift isn’t like the trespass. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. |
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. | For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh. |
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. | But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. |
But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. | But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. |
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. | Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake. |
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. | Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. |
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. | This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. |
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. | Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. |
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. | The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe. |
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. | He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him. |
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” | But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” |
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. | Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him. |
Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? | Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched? |
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. | Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come. |
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? | What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? |
