Bible Verses about 'Mark 1'

  • The time of fulfillment has arrived, and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.
  • One day, as Jesus was passing through a field of grain on the Sabbath, his disciples began to pick some heads of grain as they walked along. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why are your disciples doing what is forbidden on the Sabbath?”

He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God when Abiathar was high priest and ate the sacred bread that only the priests were permitted to eat, and he shared it with his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. That is why the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
  • But when the disciples saw him walking on the water they thought it was a ghost and they cried out, for they all had seen him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them, saying, “Have courage! It is I! Do not be afraid!”
  • He said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not realize that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not into the heart but into the stomach and is discharged into the sewer?” Thus, he pronounced all foods clean.
  • Then he went on, “It is what comes out of a person that defiles. For from within, from the human heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly. All these evils come from within, and they defile a person.”
  • He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
  • For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it.
  • What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
  • Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.”
  • Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
  • But from the very beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh.’ And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.
  • Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
  • Jesus answered, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive in this age a hundred times more houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and lands—as well as persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
  • For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road.
  • Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be accomplished for him.
  • So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
  • And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
  • You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
  • The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
  • And ‘to love him with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself,’ is worth more than any burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  • When they arrest you and bring you to trial, do not be concerned beforehand about what you are to say. Simply say whatever is given to you when that time comes, for it will not be you who speak but the Holy Spirit.
  • Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
  • He said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. See the place where they laid him.”
  • Then he said to them, “Go forth into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.”

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
