| Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. | For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. |
| If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? | But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? |

| We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. | Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. | O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. |

| For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. | For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. |
