- No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
- Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
- And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
- No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
- All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.
- Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
- This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
- How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.
- The blessing of the Lord brings wealth,
without painful toil for it. - No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones. - In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.” - Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
- Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
- The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
- However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him. - For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
- For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.
- God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity. - There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
