As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. | I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me. |
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. | So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. |

And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. | And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. |
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. | For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. |
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. | There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? |
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. | God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. |
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. | No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. |
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. | But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. |
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. | But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. |
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. | But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. |
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. | This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. |
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. |
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” | Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” |
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. | We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. |
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. | But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. |
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. | Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. |
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” | Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” |
This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. | This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. |
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. | I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me. |
Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. | I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. |
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. | When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. |
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” | On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!” |
Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. | John’s clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey. |
And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them. | I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them. |
And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. | And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. |
