- When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
- Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
- Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake. - Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.
- And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
- Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
- Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
- How they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
- And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.
- But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
- But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
- Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
- See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- The wicked man does deceptive work,
But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. - I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
- By pride comes nothing but strife,
But with the well-advised is wisdom. - I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples,
And I will sing praises to You among the nations. - The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. - How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word. - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
- Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples! - By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
- In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me?
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.A fool despises his father’s instruction,
But he who receives correction is prudent.
