Prove (3/4)

To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
One who gossips reveals secrets, but a trustworthy man keeps things hidden.A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
The whispers of a gossiper are tasty morsels that corrode one’s inner being. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Righteousness is a sign of a nation’s greatness, but sin degrades any people.Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
Some friends can lead us to ruin, but a true friend is closer than a brother.A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Acquire wisdom and gain understanding; never forget or turn aside from my words.Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Observe your father’s command, my son, and do not reject your mother’s teaching. My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother.
Fine words are not becoming to a fool, and much less are false words to a noble.Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.
A fool gives free rein to his anger, but a wise man bides his time and calms it.A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding.Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

The righteous is remembered with blessings, but the name of the wicked fades away. The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
Whoever observes the commandments will live, but the one who scorns them will die.He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
A man’s attraction is his kindness; it is far better to be poor than to be a liar. The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their parents.Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
A generous person will be enriched; he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it.Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
It is rash to pledge a sacred gift, or to make a vow and then have second thoughts. It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright, but destruction for evildoers. The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Then you will understand equity and justice as well as righteousness—every good path. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
