Proverbs 3:5 (5/6)

It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender. The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed. My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you— better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me.
