- Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope. - Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
- Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
- And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
- He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
- Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil. - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord! - Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. - Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - Blessed is the one
whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. - And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.
- But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long. - But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
- Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.
