Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. | So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. |
God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” | Who will render to every man according to his deeds. |
|
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. | Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. |
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. | Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. |
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. | Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. |
For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” | For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. |
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. |
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. | Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. |
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. | Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. |
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. | If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. |
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. | Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. | Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. |
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” | For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. |
Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. | Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. |
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. | Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. |
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. | So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. |
Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. | Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. |
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. |
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. | For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. |
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. | Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. |
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. | Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. |
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! | What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. |
