- Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

- For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.” - I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
- The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
- Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
- Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices! - The wicked earns deceptive wages,
but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward. - Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. - There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
- He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
- For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
- Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”
- And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
- For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
- “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved,
for you are my praise. - Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.
- But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
