- Hence, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.
- You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.

but they succeed when there are many counselors. - If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that the fact that you are fasting will not be obvious to others but only to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
- This is the message
that we have heard from him
and that we declare to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him. - You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.
- Bring the tithes in full into the treasury
so that there may be food in my house.
Put me thus to the test,
says the Lord of hosts,
and see if I will not open
the windows of heaven for you
and pour down blessings upon you
without measure. - There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known.
- I, I alone, am the one who comforts you.
Why then do you fear mortal men who must die,
human beings who must perish like grass? - She will give birth to a son, and you shall name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
- Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- For they said to you, “In the final age there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly passions.” It is these people who create divisions, who follow their natural instincts and do not possess the Spirit.
- So today acknowledge it and take it to heart that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. There is no other.
- Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.
- You can eat any water creature that has fins and scales; those you can eat. Whatever does not have fins or scales, you are not to eat. It is unclean for you.
