| And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. | And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. |
| Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. | No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. |

| What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? |
| And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. | Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. |
| He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. | The one who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! |
| And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. | And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him. |
| These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. | I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. |
| And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing. | When you realize your guilt in any of these, you shall confess the sin that you have committed. |
| And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. | The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. |
| But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. | But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. |
| Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? | Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? |
| Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. | Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. |
| Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. | Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. |
| And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. | Then the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our lasting good, so as to keep us alive, as is now the case. |
| Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. | From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so. |
| Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. | Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God. |
| These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. | All these were constantly devoting themselves to prayer, together with certain women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, as well as his brothers. |
| These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. | I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. |

| Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. | Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. |
| Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. | Those who are wise understand these things; those who are discerning know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them. |
| And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. | When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. |
| But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. | Let your word be ‘Yes, Yes’ or ‘No, No’; anything more than this comes from the evil one. |
| These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. | I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world! |
| Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. | Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. |
