- Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
- When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
- Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
- And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
- Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
- The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles,
And they go down into the inmost body. - Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
- And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
- And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
- Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
- But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
- Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.
- And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
- For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing.
- Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
- Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
- And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:
THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. - And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
- Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake. - But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.”
- Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
- As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
- My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you. - For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
- But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.
