| And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. | He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.” |
| For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. | For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all is God. |
| What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
| And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. | Whatever you ask for in faith-filled prayer, you will receive. |
| Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. | No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us. |
| And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. | Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection. |
| But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. | The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer. |
| Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. | Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds; let this be known throughout the entire world. |
| For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. | For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. |
| But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. | However, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you. |
| Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” |
| His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. | His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful in small matters, I will give you much greater responsibilities. Come and share your master’s joy.’ |
| And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. | The entire community of believers was united in heart and soul. No one claimed any of his possessions as his own, for everything was held in common. |
| For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. | Ever since the creation of the world the invisible attributes of God’s eternal power and divine nature have been clearly understood and perceived through the things he has made. Therefore, the conduct of these people is inexcusable. |
| Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. | Test everything, and hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil. |
| He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. | The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! |
| Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. | Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren. |
| Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. | Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware. |
| But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. | Rather, professing truth and love, we will in all things grow into him who is the head, Christ. |
| These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. | I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. |
| Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. | Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul. |
| And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. | Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. |
| Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. | Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full. |
| But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. | Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. |
| And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. | Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. |
