A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit.A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless.If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
In the netherworld, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham, far off, and Lazarus by his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me. He must turn away from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it.”For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
The whispers of a gossiper are tasty morsels that corrode one’s inner being.The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent, but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent.In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

If in speaking I use human tongues and angelic as well, but do not have love, I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
After you have suffered for a brief period, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and support you.But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life; a poor man never has to worry about such threats.The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
Rejoice with all your heart, O daughter Zion. Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem. See, your king is coming to you, triumphant and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
The father of a good man will rejoice; he who begets a wise son will delight in him.The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.

The lips of a fool cause strife, and his mouth provokes a flogging.A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
