- The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. - Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. - Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. - I cried unto him with my mouth,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
- For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
- Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
- If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
- My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
- He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. - And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. - The words of a talebearer are as wounds,
and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. - The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke. - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
- The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way. - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:
but the Lord pondereth the hearts. - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
- A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord,
and whose hope the Lord is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh,
but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
