- I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.

- I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.
- The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- For we brought nothing into the world, so that we can take nothing out of it; but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.
- Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
- The saying is sure:
If we have died with him, we will also live with him. - Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards.
- No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.
- What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?
- We love because he first loved us.
- Looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
