- Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. - The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor,
but the lips of a fool consume him. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

- When words are many, transgression is not lacking,

- For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
- So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
- Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

and all his work is done in faithfulness. - Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind!
