Dependence (2/2)

For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
Blessed be the Lord, day after day, the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. SelahPraise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms.
Surely God is my helper; the Lord is the one who sustains me.But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive!
In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me.O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right.
But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me; you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end.Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cries of supplication. From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help. Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich, he humbles and he also exalts. The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up.

Then Job arose, tore his cloak, and shaved his head. He threw himself prostrate on the ground and said: “Naked I emerged from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”
In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you. Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
Give us this day our daily bread.Give us today the food we need.
Our God is in heaven; he does whatever he pleases. Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.

Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things. Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
You, O Lord, are light for my lamp; O my God, you make my darkness turn to light. You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. SelahI lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.
