Law (2/5)

This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
For Christ is the fulfillment of the Law for the justification of all who believe. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Observe the ordinances of the Lord, your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and what he witnessed in writing in the law of Moses. In this way you will prosper in whatever you do and wherever you go.And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.
Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged.Judge not, that ye be not judged.
“You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and every other commandment are all summed up in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
He proclaimed his covenant to you which he ordered you to fulfill, the Ten Commandments, that he wrote upon two tablets of stone. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
Do not make gods from silver or from gold instead of me. You will not make them for yourselves.Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
Those who love your law have great peace; they encounter no stumbling blocks.Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
I rejoice in following your statutes more than I would rejoice in endless riches.I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.
Alleluia. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his precepts.Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
This is the end of my teaching. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for that is the responsibility of everyone.Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us.And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard? He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain.Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
