Law (2/5)

And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace.
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. For Christ is the fulfillment of the Law for the justification of all who believe.
If you love me, keep my commands. If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.Observe the ordinances of the Lord, your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and what he witnessed in writing in the law of Moses. In this way you will prosper in whatever you do and wherever you go.
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”“You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and every other commandment are all summed up in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.A wise man will heed commandments, but a babbling fool will come to grief.
Do not judge, or you too will be judged.Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged.
Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. Those who love your law have great peace; they encounter no stumbling blocks.
Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in accord with the law of the Lord.
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does.
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. This is the end of my teaching. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for that is the responsibility of everyone.
‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. My son, do not forget my teaching, but cherish my commandments in your heart, for they will bring you length of days, more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity.
Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.Whoever observes the commandments will live, but the one who scorns them will die.
He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us.
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.Everyone who sins breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.Hence, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.Anyone who has received my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.

So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
