- The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. - For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow. - The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved. - As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. - He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints. - Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord;
Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me. - They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
- A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself;
The simple pass on and are punished. - Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
- The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved. - And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. - Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield. - And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
- The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. - For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. - Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth,
Who have upheld His justice.
Seek righteousness, seek humility.
It may be that you will be hidden
In the day of the Lord’s anger. - Surely he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
