Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. | Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. |
My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him. | Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. |
|
In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you alone, Yahweh, make me live in safety. | I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. |
Yahweh says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” | Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. |
Yahweh is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. | The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. |
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” | He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. |
There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. | There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. |
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. | Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. |
Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. | O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. |
Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. | Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. |
Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you. You shall labor six days, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work— neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. | Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. |
But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer. | But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. |
My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. | My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. |
