- Godliness produces great gain, but only to those who are content.

What can mortals do to me? - Finally, find your strength in the Lord and in his mighty power.
- The lips of a fool cause strife,
and his mouth provokes a flogging. - Seek the Lord while he still may be found;
call to him when he is close at hand. - Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood
dwells in me and I dwell in him. - Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
- What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before? - He will never be swayed;
the righteous man will be remembered forever. - Come forth! Let us bow down to worship him;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. - But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. - What is born of the flesh is flesh,
and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. - At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly.
- I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
- Observe your father’s command, my son,
and do not reject your mother’s teaching. - So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober.
- Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - For the Lord himself is the one who bestows wisdom;
from his mouth come forth knowledge and understanding. - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they will have their fill. - What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!
- Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their parents. - Train a child in the way he should go,
and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. - But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace.
- The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.
- The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - Blessings are showered on the head of the righteous,
but sorrow will cover the face of the wicked. - One who despairs should have the support of his friends
even if he has forsaken the fear of the Almighty. - Therefore, observe the commandments of the Lord, your God. Walk in his ways and fear him.
- Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
- Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it.
- Put on the armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil.
- Therefore, we can say with confidence:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - Jesus replied,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through me.” - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
- Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
- Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
