- My salvation and my glory rest on God;
The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. - Go then, eat your bread in happiness, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works.
- For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble,
And He knows those who take refuge in Him. - The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom;
And with all your possessions, acquire understanding. - Certainly the Lord God does nothing
Unless He reveals His secret plan
To His servants the prophets. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
- What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
