7now (3/4)

  • Jesus answered them,
    “My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.”
  • I am now about to go the way of all upon the earth. You know very well in your hearts and your souls that not one of the good things that the Lord, your God, promised you has failed to take place. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one of them has been broken.
  • On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out,
    “If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink.”
  • The wealthy man lords it over the poor,
and the borrower becomes the slave of the lender.
  • To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Therefore say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: The fulfillment of my words will not be delayed any longer. What I have said will be done now. This is the word of the Lord God.”
  • Fine words are not becoming to a fool,
and much less are false words to a noble.
  • I will praise you in sincerity of heart
as I ponder your righteous judgments.
  • The righteous is remembered with blessings,
but the name of the wicked fades away.
  • Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
  • And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
  • Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you previously, that no one who does such things will inherit the kingdom of God.
  • Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you.
  • I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
  • He continued, “Then put away the foreign gods from among you. Bend your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
  • To him who in all things is able
    through the power
that is at work within us
    to accomplish abundantly far more
than all we can ask or imagine,
to him be glory in the Church
    and in Christ Jesus
    through all generations,
    forever and ever. Amen.
  • The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
  • Go forth, then. Eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God long ago approved what you do.
  • He reserves his wisdom for the upright
and is a shield to those who lead blameless lives.
  • Indeed, the Lord God does nothing
    without revealing his plan
    to his servants, the prophets.
  • The beginning of wisdom is: acquire wisdom,
and no matter what the cost, acquire understanding.
  • The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer.
  • For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom.
  • The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him.
  • May God continue to bless us
and be revered to the ends of the earth.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools are those who despise wisdom and instruction.

Bible verse of the day

And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
