  • Jesus answered them,
    “My teaching is not my own;
    rather, it comes from him who sent me.”
  • I am now about to go the way of all upon the earth. You know very well in your hearts and your souls that not one of the good things that the Lord, your God, promised you has failed to take place. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one of them has been broken.
  • The wealthy man lords it over the poor,
    and the borrower becomes the slave of the lender.
  • John’s clothing was made of camel’s hair, with a leather loincloth around his waist, and his food consisted of locusts and wild honey.
  • Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you previously, that no one who does such things will inherit the kingdom of God.
  • I will praise you in sincerity of heart
    as I ponder your righteous judgments.
  • Fine words are not becoming to a fool,
    and much less are false words to a noble.
  • The righteous is remembered with blessings,
    but the name of the wicked fades away.
  • Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
  • Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you.
  • I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
  • Go forth, then. Eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God long ago approved what you do.
  • O Lord, grant us salvation.
    O Lord, grant us success.
    Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
    We bless you from the house of the Lord.
  • With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • Indeed, the Lord God does nothing
    without revealing his plan
    to his servants, the prophets.
  • The beginning of wisdom is: acquire wisdom,
    and no matter what the cost, acquire understanding.
  • He reserves his wisdom for the upright
    and is a shield to those who lead blameless lives.
  • To him who in all things is able
    through the power
    that is at work within us
    to accomplish abundantly far more
    than all we can ask or imagine,
    to him be glory in the Church
    and in Christ Jesus
    through all generations,
    forever and ever. Amen.
  • On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out,
    “If anyone is thirsty,
    let him come to me and drink.”
  • The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer.
  • To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Now we know that if the earthly tent in which we live is destroyed, we have a dwelling prepared for us by God, a dwelling in the heavens, not made with human hands, that will be eternal.
  • The Lord is good,
    an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
    He takes care of those who place their trust in him.
  • For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom.
  • The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
