One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. | One who despairs should have the support of his friends even if he has forsaken the fear of the Almighty. |
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. | Blessed is the man whom God reproves. Therefore, do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. |

“I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” | “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” |
We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us. | But the Almighty we cannot find; he is unequaled in power and judgment, and in his righteousness he will not violate justice. |
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. | You who abide in the shelter of the Most High, who rest in the shadow of the Almighty, say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I place my trust.” |
Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved. | Restore us, O Lord of hosts; let your face shine upon us, and we will be saved. |
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. | Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. |

For the word of God will never fail. | For nothing will be impossible for God. |
O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you! | Ah, Lord God, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and your outstretched arm. Nothing is impossible for you. |
Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory. | Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts: he is the King of glory. Selah |
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. | Great is the Lord and worthy of the highest praise; no one can even begin to comprehend his greatness. |
Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength. | Wealth and honor are from you, you reign over all. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. | For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom. | All this knowledge comes from the Lord of hosts whose counsel is wonderful and whose wisdom is great. |

All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen. | To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. |
This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. | This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. |
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. | The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it. |
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. | Ever since the creation of the world the invisible attributes of God’s eternal power and divine nature have been clearly understood and perceived through the things he has made. Therefore, the conduct of these people is inexcusable. |
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. | Finally, find your strength in the Lord and in his mighty power. |
“They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child.” | They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my own special possession on the day when I act, and I will have compassion on them as a father has compassion on the son who serves him. |
He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light. | He reveals deep and hidden mysteries and knows what lies in the darkness, for light dwells with him. |
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. | Dear children, you are from God and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. |
