Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of mankind among them are fully given to do evil.Because the sentence for committing an evil act is not carried out quickly, people’s hearts are prone to act wickedly.
For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love.
A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent person conceals dishonor.A fool is quick to show his anger, but a prudent man ignores an insult.
An excellent wife, who can find her? For her worth is far above jewels.Who can find a worthy wife? She is far more precious than pearls.
Therefore, concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no God but one.Now in regard to the eating of meat sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world and that there is only one God.
But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter.
Do not envy a violent person, And do not choose any of his ways. For the devious are an abomination to the Lord; But He is intimate with the upright.Do not envy a violent man or choose to emulate any of his ways. For the perverse man is an abomination to the Lord whose friendship is bestowed only upon the upright.
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.Persevere in prayer, with alert minds and thankful hearts.

Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or abandon them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God.Yet even so, because of your great compassion, you did not completely destroy them, nor did you forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
