This is ‘the stone rejected by you, the builders, that has become the cornerstone.’ | This Jesus is ‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders; it has become the cornerstone.’ |
Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise. | Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. |

However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. | But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God. |
He must increase; I must decrease. | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God. | For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. |
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. | For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. |
Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new. | So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! |
For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had. | For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end. |
By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. | My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. |
But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty. The water that I will give him will become a spring of water within him welling up to eternal life. | But those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life. |

The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come. | Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. |
Come now and let us discuss this, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow. But from the very beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh.’ And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate. | But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. |

Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” | He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” |

The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man. The man said, “This one is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken from man.” This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh. | And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called Woman, for out of Man this one was taken.” Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. |
