| Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. | Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. |
| Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. | Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. |

| No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. | No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. |
| All the believers were one in heart and mind. | Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. | For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. | For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. |
| Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” | Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” |
| But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! | But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. |
| And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. | And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. |
| But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. | But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. |
| But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. | Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. | Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. |
| Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. | Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. |
| Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. | If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. |
| All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. | But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. |
| When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” | When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. | And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. | And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. |
| Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. | And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. |
| Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? | Can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be seared? |
