And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ”
Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.

For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined.
