| Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. | Let no foul word ever pass your lips. Say only what is useful for edification, so that your words may benefit your listeners. |
| Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. | Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new. |
| But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. | However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. |

I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles. |

| With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. | My soul longs for you throughout the night, and my spirit within me seeks your presence. For when your judgments are revealed to the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn to practice justice. |
| For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live.” | For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: If you seek me, you will survive. |
| For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. | For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast. |
| Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. | If you would seriously consider my reproof, I would pour out my thoughts to you and make my precepts known to you. |
| Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. | I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown. |
