The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him. | You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him. |
| It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. | The love of the Lord is never exhausted, nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end. They are renewed every morning; his faithfulness never ceases. |
| He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. | He who guards his mouth makes his life secure, but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. |

| For Yahweh says to the house of Israel: “Seek me, and you will live.” | For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: If you seek me, you will survive. |
| For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. | For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast. |
| Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. | If you would seriously consider my reproof, I would pour out my thoughts to you and make my precepts known to you. |
| I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. | I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown. |
| Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know. | Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware. |
