- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
- Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
- Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall be comforted. - So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
- Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
- When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul. - I, I am he who comforts you;
who are you that you are afraid of man who dies,
of the son of man who is made like grass. - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
- For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
- May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.
- I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. - That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.
- But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
- Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
- But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
- For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us. The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.Next verse!With image
